MLK's Dream, Still Only a Dream - 01/20/2009 6:08 PM
We have a new President, Obama, and everyone is all gaga about it and talking about cooperation, hope, MLK’s Dream coming true and how we should all come together. Well excuse me, but I have something to say before I pick up my glass of Kool-Aid.

Let’s hit the really unpopular view first…MLK’s Dream certainly did not come true…Obama largely was elected because of the color of his skin, not the content of his character. The Obamamania that followed his winning (legitimately) the Presidential race is focused virtually entirely around his race. MLK’s Dream wasn’t that a black man would someday be President…it was that one day we would have a great President, who, by the way, was black. We have people ready to carve Obama into Mt. Rushmore…why? Because of the color of his skin. Will Obama become a great President? Perhaps, although if he does what he wants to, certainly not. The only character we can judge Obama by now is his anti-American acquaintances, racist-hate-speak church attendance (for 20 years) and less experience than his opponent’s Vice-Presidential pick. Ok, it’s cool that America is capable of electing a black man as President, that’s worth a nod – however let’s let history determine if this is historic, not his skin pigmentation.

My kids spent the entire school day staring at everything associated with the inauguration. Watching the inauguration and speech is highly appropriate; however watching hours and hours of TV on this topic is outrageous. They even had brown-bag lunches brought into their rooms so they wouldn’t have to miss any of it. Would they have done the same if McCain had won? Obviously not. This is no surprise when you consider that other than the media, the education system is the most liberal agenda-driven organization in the United States.

Speaking of the media, it died in 2007 in case you missed that in the obituary section of your local newspaper. Ok, media didn’t die, just any pretense that it is unbiased and professional. The list of crimes against journalism in the last Presidential race is vast. It ranges from “journalists” getting a “tingling running up their leg” at the thought of Obama as President, to the complete lack of digging and reporting on real stories. If McCain had spent one Sunday in a Church where the preacher said 1/10th of what Obama’s preacher said for decades, McCain would have been squashed like a bug by the media. “MCCAIN ATTENDS RACIST ANTI-AMERICAN CHURCH” would have been the headlines and lead stories of every media outlet. Instead we had a newspaper with a video of Obama praising an anti-Semite (and long-time friend of Obama) refusing to release the video because it was unimportant. The very nature that it existed and people wanted to see it made it news…

So can’t we just accept that Obama is the President, come together and get along? Well excuse me for not doing so. Where was this when people like me wanted this for our last President (who kept this country safe following 9/11)? The same ones saying we should come together are still actively out to get former President Bush – even willing to pursue war crimes, etc. Still many are saying we need to cooperate, we need to work together for the country – excuse me, but I was doing that before, and after much effort and hearing only baseless ranting against Bush I’ve had it.

Do I wish our President success? If he intends to pursue his socialist anti-American policies, pursue global interests above America’s interests, buy into the man-made global warming hoax, then NO, I do not wish him success! Let the accusations begin! Oppose Obama, criticize him, find fault with his policies, and you will be branded a racist. It is happening already – it happened during the election. One of my sons was branded a racist multiple times because he thought McCain was a better choice. But America deserves this President and all the harm he has promised to bring. My hope is that he abandons his agenda either out of inability to pass it, or because by some unimaginable miracle he comes to realize they are flawed.

We have a President who was largely elected because of his race. That wasn’t MLK’s Dream – that is the definition of racism. We have learned much about Obama’s character, and it is highly questionable, now we can judge his actions. But you better pay attention because you will not be able to rely on an unbiased and professional media, it died in 2007 in case you missed that. You better be careful how you criticize, we have already seen that if you are critical of him you get investigated by America’s version of the Gestapo (can you say Joe the Plumber?). Any media person who dares to be unbiased and professional risks losing access.

We have begun handing over our freedoms and power to a potentially dangerous man. Idiots, blinded by his race and/or the fact that he is NOT Bush are doing so happily and anxious for the rest of us to do so. Perhaps we as a nation will be lucky and Obama will be nothing more than Jimmy Carter’s second term. This is how socialism replaces capitalism, not with a bloody war, but with thunderous applause.

Anybody want my Kool-Aid? I don’t think I’ll be drinking it
