Things-a-shakin’ on kcuhc.com - 09/29/2007 5:56 PM It has been a while, but I’ve been doing a little work on TWN recently and wanted to make you aware of the changes! The first thing you might notice is towards the bottom of the page I now have a poll! Once you vote you can see the results, please take a look and vote, I’d really like to know the answer to the first question, “How do you know kcuhC?”. Although I only have the active poll visible, I will have them for historical purposes. I’ll likely do a “rant” after each poll sharing the results so everyone can see them. I don’t know how often I’ll change them; it probably depends on the number of responses. The discussion forms are back! They are working again and as of this writing I have not started them off with anything much, but hope to get involved shortly – hey, help me out here, get things moving by posting! If you would like to be a moderator for a conference, please let me know what you’d like to call it and we’ll set it up (obviously it must be legal and not family hostile as we cannot know for certain who will read the material). You need to register to post on a forum, but this takes just a minute and you can instantly post. I have put in what I hope will trip-up auto-posting junk that posts spam…check it out! The chat feature is now working. This is a very handy tool that you are welcome to use for you and your friends! When you have a group, set up a date/time to have a chat, then go online and login (you can just type in whatever “login” name you like at that moment, and begin chatting with up to 50 people! It is a great tool for any kind of group that would like an easy way to meet without meeting in person. Some examples would be any group or club that would like an informal “rant and vent” session. Co-workers who’d like to anonymously discuss issues at the office. Friends who want to play a game such as trivial pursuit online (someone reads questions and see who answers first). There are dozens of uses; take advantage of it, it’s free! Something that will really help me grow the site is people responding to me, so start with the first poll…I want to know people are reading and using this site, and who they are. kcuhC, chuck@kcuhc.com |
