An example of media bias - 09/21/2004 4:35 PM
The bias of the mainstream media is pretty obvious most of the time. Usually in what they do not cover and of course what they do. When they do cover something, the language they choose often is overlooked by most but introduces much of their bias. Here's one of the most blatant examples of this I've seen in recent times. This is snagged from cnn.com
President Bush, trying to soften his image overseas as a heavy-handed unilateralist, is
They say heavy-handed, I say courageous American leader. They say unilateralist I wonder what the other few dozen nations who have troops in Iraq would think.
Imagine a news media that reports real news without regard to their bias. Imagine a news media that clearly segmented any commentary/opinion from their reporting. CBS's recent embarrassment (faked paperwork regarding our President) will quickly be swept out of public view
let someone produce fake documents on Kerry, and let's see how quickly that's swept away! We'll know who sponsored it, who didn't apologize for it, and we'd extract a pound of flesh.
And people wonder why I don't subscribe to a newspaper or watch much TV
